Beechworth Wine Estates 2017 Tempranillo/Graciano - Beechworth Vic $26rrp (2)
The rich, soft raspberry and cherry fruit of the tempranillo is complemented by the high toned spicy aromatics and structure of the Graciano. Aged in matured oak our blend captures the palate with a lingering finish
D’Angelo 2014 “Sab’s’ Shiraz – Langhorne Ck SA -$26rrp (2)
The palate is rich and full of black fruits and has a long soft finish. A wine that could partner cheese platter equally as well as a rare fillet steak. It is drinking well now but will age gracefully for the remainder of the decade.
Juniper Estate 2016 "Small Batch" Cabernet Sauvignon – Margaret River WA $28rrp (1)
A juicy earlier drinking style of Margaret River cabernet but still showing that line and length expected of the variety and region. A very smart wine that over-delivers in spades.
Helen & Joey 2019 "Inara" Cab/Sauv –Yarra Valley Vic $24rrp (1)
This is a very good cabernet that offers a mix of redcurrant and cassis aromas and flavors with a generous mouthfeel and good length on the palate.
Stefani Estate 2017 Shiraz – Heathcote Vic rrp $30- (1)
The wine is brick red in colour. On the nose it displays notes of chocolate and juniper. The palate is full of rich firm tannins with notes of strawberry, caramel and all-spice. It can be enjoyed now and will cellar well for up to 10 years.
Smallfry 2018 “Schlieb's Garden" Grenache/Shiraz – Barossa $36rrp- (2)
Plum and Tar with Christmas pudding with a woody spice background. Fruit sweetness up front with a light mid palate, finishing long and savoury, silky tannin. Oak frames the palate adding structure.
Tournon 2014 “Shays Flat” Shiraz – Pyrenees Vic $35rrp (1)
A complex nose of black fruits (cherry, blackberry) with hints of tobacco, the aromas of black fruits and liquorice with supple and delicate tannins. A wine really hitting it's sweet spot right now.
Rocky Ridge 2011 Shiraz – McLaren Vale SA $40rrp (1)
This is a brilliant aged red that offers a wonderful insight to the terrior of McLaren Vale. Rich and meaty with dark chocolate notes and brooding black fruits. A real surprise packet with rock star appeal.
