AUSTRALIA vs NEW ZEALAND
Friday 27th April 2018
7.30pm Seasons Restaurant @Cloudehill
Australian Pinot Noir ranks as some of the finest in the New World, but it is New Zealand who is leading the charge. Pinot Noir is a fussy grape. It's difficult to grow and tricky to vinify. This means that the wine it produces are invariably expensive, but to those who have been bitten by the Pinot bug, it's the holy grail of winemaking. At this dinner we've hand picked a selection of exceptional styles across various price points and regions, pitting them one against the other to see who comes out on top.
Representing Australia are
BINDI (Macedon), ASHTON HILLS (Adelaide Hills), HURLEY (Mornington Peninsula), LEVANTINE HILL
(Yarra Valley) plus a MYSTERY AUSTRALIAN PINOT NOIR!
Representing New Zealand are
Cult producer DRY RIVER (Central Otago), GREYSTONE (Canterbury), RIPPON (Central Otago), TARRAS
(Central Otago) plus a MYSTERY NEW ZEALAND PINOT NOIR!
10 wines over 3 beautiful courses prepared by the wonderfully talented team at Seasons and our first with them which we're highly anticipating.
MENU
Poached Ora King Salmon , heirloom beet and soft herb salad with Lingonberry
Slow roast Pork Belly, savoury cabbage, duck fat roast potatoes and cherry reduction
Confit Duck leg with puy lentil ragu and pot roasted quince.
Tea and coffee to finish.
Very limited seats $150.00pp

PENFOLDS GRANGE vs THE REST OF OUR BEST!
ONLY 2 SEATS LEFT!!
Contact us on 9751 0999 to secure your booking!
4 Course Spectacular FRIDAY SEPT 22ND 7.30PM @Copperfields Restaurant - $175.00pp
Regarded as one of the best wines in the world, and arguably Australia's best, Penfolds Grange is the epitome of Australian shiraz, but how does it compare to our selection of rivals??
This dinner we're putting it to the test and pit it against a selection of 8 other favourite shiraz of ours, but wait, there's more, we won't tell you which wine is which until the end of the night. This will ensure no preconceptions and should keep things on a level playing field.
Our selection of rivals have been meticulously selected and while some wines may be unknown to you, they are worthy in their own right to be in this line up and include in alphabetical order
(this will not be the pouring order on the night) of
AMHERST 2013 "WALTER COLLINGS" SHIRAZ - Pyrenees Vic
A previous "Top 10" wine of the year contender, this beautiful Victorian Shiraz will surprise a few.
SMALL GULLY'S 2013 BLACK MAGIC SHIRAZ - Barossa Valley SA
This elusive and mysterious Shiraz may not be known to many, but never forgotten once tried.
GIACONDA 2008 "WARNER VINEYARD" SHIRAZ - Beechworth Vic
Known for producing arguably the best Chardonnay in OZ, this Shiraz sits the shadows showing all the talents of this iconic winery.
GREENOCK CREEK 2007 "SEVEN ACRE" SHIRAZ - Barossa Valley SA*
Regarded as one of the best Australian Shiraz ever by American wine writer and icon wine identity Robert Parker Jnr, and a worthy contender.
HENTLEY FARM 2010 "THE BEAST" SHIRAZ - Barossa Valley SA*
James Halliday's Winery of the Year 2015, this is their flagship shiraz from the magnificent 2010 vintage
SHIRVINGTON 2011 REDWIND SHIRAZ - McLaren Vale SA
The dark horse in the mix, but again worthy as 80 yo+ vines from McLaren Vale's "Scarce Earth" project shine through.
TURKEY FLAT 2013 SHIRAZ - Barossa Valley SA
From some of the oldest Shiraz vines in the world, this true to heart Barossa red has all the hallmarks of the gnarly old vines planted in 1847
WILD DUCK CREEK 2013 RESERVE SHIRAZ - Heathcote Vic
As hard to source as it is to make, only from parcels of fruit from exceptional vintages and limited to just 100doz when made, this legendary maker rarely lets this wine out of cellar door.
ALL VS
PENFOLDS GRANGE 2005*
"A small 2005 vintage Grange make - understandably no quality compromise.
With its DNA at 88% Barossa, this Grange belies most 2005vintage-chart implications."
Peter Gago - Penfolds Chief Winemaker
*Vintage to be confirmed

ANNOUNCING WARRANDYTE CELLARS
INAUGURAL WINE DINNER !
Thursday May 26th 2016 7pm at ALTAIR RESTAURANT (Warrandyte)
DEISEN WINES (Spectacular Iconic Barossa producer)
“MEET THE WINE MAKER” - VERY LIMITED SEATS!
Sabine Deisen makes some of the most idiosyncratic wines from the Barossa. Generous in flavour, highly expressive and synonymous with the region. Not only are they beautiful, but highly sought after by industry professionals and wine critics alike; it’s not uncommon for Sabine to make a single batch of just 20 dozen of one wine.
This dinner will encompass 3 courses of expertly matched food by the team at Altair. This is a real coup for us as Sabine rarely gets to Melbourne to show her wines, this is small batch artisan winemaking at its best and a very rare treat for those who’ll attend. Wines will include
Premium GSM 2012.
A broad juicy, fruity balanced red, instantly appealing to every person who has tried it. so lovely, a wonderful balance between fruit and savoury notes, light oak and spice, a joy with or without food ( 14.7%alc).
Mataro 2012
A particularly outstandingly savoury wine, perfect with Italian ingredients, quite unique. Smooth, dense, rich purple, almost chocolaty on nose and palate, in texture too there’s a smooth evenness, mouth coating savoury, almost bitter, herby fruit. Great with Italian or alpine cuisine (14.4%alc)
The Meadows 2011/12
Lighter in texture, easy drinking 100% Shiraz Rich fulsome nose, and then the taste lighter and drier than you would expect. Unusual for a Deisen! But then, I wanted to showcase the effect of season. Great with food, comes into it’s own beautiful and elegant and perfectly balanced. (14.4%alc)
The Shiraz Special Cuvee #1
Such a unusual, intriguing wine, one in which Sabine thinks is her best yet! A seamlessly smooth, deep black Shiraz from an adventurous blend (60% ‘06; 30% ‘15; 10% Mataro ‘14). 9 years of age add intrigue and complexity (14.5 %alc)
The Shiraz with a Touch 2012
Big bold and beautiful, a really typical Barossa red 85% Shiraz, with a touch of Mataro (15%) which imparts a refreshing lightness and fruitiness, despite being a very substantial wine. Underlying crisp acid, gentle oak. (15.2% alc)
The Autumn Song Grenache 2012
Sabine has never packed so much flavour and aroma into a Grenache, A single barrel of Grenache, selected for its quintessential Grenache nose, that beautiful aroma that sweeps you away. Three year in very soft oak, the time and handling none the less adds amazing spice and complexity to the nose and palate. (15.4%alc)
$100.00pp Limited seats available.

OLINDA CELLARS “SECRET STASH” MYSTERY WINE DINNER!!
7.30pm FRIDAY 27TH MARCH – COPPERFIELDS RESTAURANT
We’re kicking off our first dinner this year with an absolute DOOZY, a mystery dinner consisting of all reds from my personal “Secret Stash”. Many of these wines have not made their way on the shelves of the store due to their rarity and my ability to hoard wine. Some big names, one off wines and rarely seen icons will be a feature. The wines will be matched by a 3 course extravaganza at Copperfields Restaurant on Friday March 27th from 7.30pm.
This is a Mystery Dinner! The wines will be revealed at the end of night and are a collection of current vintage reds. Bookings are now being taken and we expect this dinner to sell out very quickly. The menu is still to be finalized but expect mouth watering food as is standard from the team at Copperfields.
$125.00 per person all inclusive
Bookings essential to Olinda Cellars on 9751 0999 or return email here.

Olinda Cellars has been selected by Henschke as one of only 5 Victorian outlets to host a rare insight into one of Australia’s and the world’s greatest single vineyard producer. Long established as “Grand Cru” status in Australia, Henschke is the only real contender to rival Penfolds and their wine range. However unlike Penfolds who draws on a multitude of vineyard sites and viticultural options, Henschke rivals its only peer on estate grown, family owned and produced single vineyard wines, a true feat worthy of greatness. With only 40 seats available, their rare benchmark wines from spectacular vintages will be showcased for extraordinary event, unfortunately rareness has it’s price.
Olinda Cellars in conjunction with Henschke offer 3 tiers to attend this event, all requiring purchasing of Henschke wine. Please remember, while these offers may seem high, you will be purchasing some of the finest wine available in the world at a discounted rate, as well as attend an event to be remembered and talked about for decades
